A MESSAGE FROM THE CEO
DEAR FRIEND,
Welcome to the Visionary Women’s Afternoon Tea! We are delighted
to reunite with all of you in this beautiful space, and grateful to Sharon
Lawrence for agreeing to serve as our host for the day.
The Visionary Women’s event highlights the
fact that women are disproportionately
affected by Alzheimer’s at a significantly
higher rate than men. In addition, women
make up the majority of caregivers for
those living with Alzheimer’s or another
dementia.
That’s why I am so proud to recognize
our wonderful honorees this year: Nancy
Paulikas (in memorium), Supevisor Janice
Heather Cooper Ortner
Hahn, and Marisela Diaz. It is especially
touching for us to highlight the impact
they’ve had on our community on International Women’s Day, which
is dedicated to reflecting on the often-overlooked contributions of
women in our society.
It is my pleasure to recognize our wonderful sponsors, Board of
Directors, and donors without whom none of the work we do would be
possible. I would also like to thank Randi Jones for her work as chair of
our planning committee, and the other women on the committee for
their support and dedication to this event.
Finally, I want to extend my most heartfelt thanks to each of you for
supporting our event today. As always, every dollar you give stays
local in our community. Thanks to your support, our programs are
always free for families. We know we could not do that without you.
With gratitude,
Heather Cooper Ortner
