run4ALZ® 2018 – Henry
Henry
Henry Morgen has always been a charity runner. A few years ago, he joined the run4ALZ® program with Alzheimer’s Los Angeles in memory of his parents. While the cause is personal, what initially convinced him to participate in his first marathon was a colleague’s presentation about marathon running. Henry thought to himself “if he can do it, I can too!” So began Henry’s marathon experience… He ran three marathons with other charities before coming to us.
Henry explained that our training program is what sets us apart from the others. He loved the Sunday training with Coach Larry, a professional running coach, while other organizations relied upon staff. He also appreciated the support he received from the Alzheimer’s LA staff throughout the whole process. We asked what he might say to potential first-time runners or those in-doubt, and he simply stated “just do it. Take your time and try using the walk/run method.”
Remember, you CAN do it!
