Dr Cherry at Taiwan conference

Once again, Alzheimer’s LA’s locally focused work has gained international recognition. In December, Dr. Debra Cherry, Alzheimer’s Los Angeles Executive Vice President, was invited by Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare and by the Chung Shan Medical University to provide training to healthcare professionals on Creating Dementia Capable Healthcare Systems. Dr. Cherry presented on Alzheimer’s LA’s lessons learned from our local efforts to improve healthcare for people with dementia. She was a keynote speaker at Taiwan’s International Symposium on Dementia Prevention and Care, which was attended by over 300 healthcare professionals and she also addressed over 150 faculty and students at the Chung Shan Medical University’s Conference on Dementia Care. While visiting Taiwan, Dr. Cherry was also asked to address a community group interested in setting up Dementia Friendly churches.
